FULL VIEW is highly encouraged

Drawing Asuka was very tough for the lack of good references on her geisha costume!!! :frustrated: I even had to play Tekken 5 in hopes of coming across her as one of my enemies.... After what seemed like endless of hours of tekken arcade gameplay, I finally managed to encounter the Asuka in this costume! I had to get my digicam to take a snapshot at her costume! :p

Anyways, I think the thingy around her waist/obi is a whip, so there! I think she doesn't look anywhere near Asuka too! :hmm: I absolutely suck and hate drawing feet, so I covered her foot with the letters! ^^;


Done in HB pencils, 0.2 & 0.3mm micron pens, sharpie, erasers, tortillons, tissues + plenty of patience and pain relievers :pills: [for my aching back!] and PS CS3 for color adjustment.
Time: 48 hrs or more...

Very nice work! The detail is superb :)
I don't know the original character, so I can't comment on resemblance, but I think this picture is very well done.

heh, wow awesome xD she was my favorite to play in tekken 5 and I loved it when I could use that costume ^_^ (then again leg warmers was also tempting >_> )

not the point though... you did a nice job, and I think she looks like her at least to the point that I can distinguish her! so you did a great job with it and that's all that matters! XD you spent lots of time and it really pays off in the end ^_^

heh, sorry there aren't many refs >_> I wonder why?

Maybe I can give you a hint ^^;
On youtube you find actually a lot of videos with this costume..

But in the game itself, you can buy it... ^^;
After you bought it, go to the VS place (where you can play with two human players) and select Asuka with the circle button. Then she should wear that costume ^^;
Too funny XD
If you press the square, she should wear her school uniform I think..

This was instantly faved, since 1) I adore this character along with this costume 2) the drawing is really great! (just her hips seem a little too small) 3) I'm going to cosplay her THIS sunday ^^
4) I know what you're talking about with the photo reference! I found a website with lots of pics of her on it in that costum, but it doesn't exist anymore :cry:
